The 21st Annual Indio International Tamale Festival presented by Fantasy Springs Resort Casino will once again include a kick-off parade on Saturday, December 1st at 10am. Entries are still available for this popular parade!
The parade, which encourages entries to use cornhusks as decoration, will start at Miles Park on Miles Ave and travel east to Oasis Street then south on Oasis to Wilson Street where it will end.
This December, dig in to one of Food Network’s top 10 “All-American Food Festivals,” and chow down on tempting tamales at the annual Indio International Tamale Festival.A Southern California holiday tradition since 1992, the Indio International Tamale Festival features every kind of tamale you can imagine, along with carnival rides and games, parades, a rock climbing wall, inflatable bounce houses and a kids’ petting zoo.
The Annual Indio International Tamale Festival is in downtown Indio, California from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. Admission is free to all in attendance, and there will be plenty of parking available at the festival.
The annual Tamale Festival has over 60 vendors selling over 300,000 tamales for the weekend and an additional 150 vendors selling arts and crafts, food and commercial merchandise. The Festival also includes a Kiddieland area with giant slides and bounce houses. A massive carnival, tamale eating contests and 4 stages of entertainment are also a part of this wonderful community event.
