Palm Desert will kick off its 20th annual holiday WildLights festival Wednesday. Philanthropists Ron and Sherry Auen of the H.N. and Francis C. Berger Foundation will “flip the ceremonial switch” at 5:30 p.m., Living Desert spokeswoman Lisa Herman said.
The festival, themed “Holidays Around the World,” showcases holiday traditions and food from different countries and features more than 750,000 lights and camel rides.
This year’s event will feature new light displays and international food and beverage stations. Santa will also visit every night the attraction is open, and the Wildlife Wonders Show also returns this year.
“Holidays Around the World is an exciting new twist to the popular annual Palm Desert tradition,” said Nyla Patzner, marketing and public relations manager for The Living Desert.
Tickets for adults are $10, with no admission fee for children under 2. Tickets are $8 for all other children and members of the military who show ID.
