Set amid towering native pines and stately oaks on the Idyllwild Arts Campus, the Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines Festival is a full weekend of music, food and fun for a good cause. This year’s festival will be held on August 17-18.
Now entering its 20th year in 2013, Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines was originally created by two music lovers who wanted to promote Jazz as an art form while raising money for scholarships to the Idyllwild Jazz Arts Academy and Summer Program.
This event is family-friendly, so bring the whole gang out for an entire weekend of fun and smooth jazz as famous musicians and up-and-coming artists alike take to the stage to show off their talents.
As the music invites you in, stroll along and through the Festival Marketplace. Paved with pine needles, the winding path takes you by more than 60 artists and artisans.
Right next to The French Quarter is the Associates of Idyllwild Arts headquarters. You’ll find must have Jazz in the Pines t-shirts, hoodies and hats.
And what is more fun than a Picnic in the Pines? Under market umbrellas and within earshot of the three jazz venues you can enjoy everything from authentic Cajun food to strudels with ice cream.
Idyllwild has been named one of the 100 Best Art Towns in America and is well known for its Art shows and events.
