The Annual Indio International Tamale Festival is a local Valley Tradition to kick off the Holiday Season. It’s the largest Tamale Festival in the world and has been ranked as one of the top ten “All-American Food Festivals” in the nation by Food Network-TV. The traditional competition for best tamale recipe will be held, in addition to the tamale eating contest.
Over 200,000 people are expected to attend the weekend-long celebration with Live Entertainment on five stages. Come hungry, there will be over 300,000 tamales of all varieties in over 60 booths, a tamale-eating contest, food trucks, opening parade, Car Show, art and wine garden, artisan’s corner, a beer garden, Kiddieland, over 200 vendors, carnival rides, and family-friendly activities for all ages.
Don’t miss the tamale making demo station, special appearances by past parade grand marshals, a Farmer’s Market featuring locally grown fruits and vegetables.
