This spectacular two-day Art Affaire is a juried fine art and music festival featuring more than 100 award-winning visual artists in a variety of artistic mediums, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and other artistic originals. Unique among festivals, Art Affaire is a community event, presented by the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission to enrich the community and support the presence of fine arts and culture in the valley.
“We think of ourselves as a boutique art show, with an intimate setting and a very comfortable size,” says Festival Director Diana Beck. “Artists really appreciate a smaller show, because they love talking to their clients.”
This year, patrons will enjoy a new amphitheater with terrace seating that will accommodate an audience of up to 600 guests. The stage will be a dramatically covered platform supported by extensive back-of-the-house facilities including restrooms for performers and the public. This amphitheater is just one of many exciting new additions to the renovated Rancho Mirage Community Park.
If you’re a jazz fan, you’re in luck! Saxophonist, composer, producer, and vocalist Eric Darius takes the stage on Saturday, November 7 at 3:30 p.m, and contemporary saxophonist, songwriter, producer and recording artist Michael Lington will perform on Sunday, November 8 at 3:30 p.m.
The Rancho Mirage Art Affaire is free to all in attendance, and is held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Rancho Mirage Community Park (formerly known as Whitewater Park), located at 71-560 San Jacinto Drive in Rancho Mirage.
