Idyllwild Jazz Festival

Idyllwild Jass

Now entering its 21st year in 2014, Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines was originally created by two music lovers who wanted to promote Jazz as an art form while raising money for scholarships to the Idyllwild Jazz Arts Academy and Summer Program.

The event helps fund the Idyllwild Arts Academy’s education programs, which include music, theater, visual arts, dance, fashion, creative writing, and moving pictures, as well as the organization’s extensive summer programs. And on top of that, it celebrates a purely American art form—jazz!

In addition to the quality musical acts, there’s a wonderful festival marketplace where you’ll find all kinds of beautiful handicrafts, jewelry, and art—not to mention a wide selection of delicious food, along with wine, beer, and margaritas that helps to add to the festivities.

Set amid towering native pines and stately oaks on the Idyllwild Arts Campus, the Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines Festival is a full weekend of music, food and fun for a good cause.

Weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. Come prepared for rain and bring a sweater or light jacket as evenings can be cool. Comfortable and sturdy walking shoes are a must as forest pathways can be uneven.

Idyllwild is located in the San Jacinto Mountains on Hwy 243, only two hours from Los Angeles or San Diego, and one hour from Palm Springs or Palm Desert. Hwy 243 is accessible from Interstate 10 at Banning or off Hwy 74 from Hemet or Palm Desert. The festival is held on the Idyllwild Arts campus.
