Humana Challenge, which garnered the Sports Event of the Year award for 2012, has become one of the PGA TOUR’s destination golf events. Making history with its healthy living initiative, the shorter format tournament begins Thursday, January 17.
President Clinton and a host of celebrities and pros will be on hand to promote great PGA TOUR golf, charity and well-being. Humana, the Clinton Foundation and the PGA TOUR are raising awareness and charitable dollars through the new Humana Challenge event.
The first three rounds are played in a Pro-Am format, with groups comprised of two PGA TOUR professionals and two amateurs. For each day of the three round Pro-Am competition, the professional will have a different amateur partner.
The final round takes place Sunday, January 20, for professionals only. The field size for the event will be some 144 professionals and about 144 amateurs
The tournament will challenge participating pros, amateurs, celebrities, volunteers, spectators and millions of viewers around the country to “up their game” by taking definitive steps to improve their health.
The final round will again be staged on the Palmer Private, a proud tradition for more than 18 years.
